A Visit from Gini Dietrich’s Mom

My mom, Christy Norton, is visiting me from my hometown of Salt Lake City and the Arment Dietrich Facebook fans thought it’d be fun to have her make a guest appearance in today’s video. So, here she is, answering the question, “Did Gini always show signs of being an entrepreneur and, if yes, what did you do to instill that in her?”

ParkRidgeDDS Ah. That means she hasn't visited me in nearly a year.

Kat-sorry to steal your thunder, but it looks like I get the last word on Gini's mom! And, Gini, that word is: LOVE. This is my absolute favorite video that you have done thus far! I know you think I'm jerking your chain, but I'm being totally serious-there's of great stuff on many levels in this two minute segment. Plus, I get to see the face of the woman who you always tell me is responsible for writing me those checks I'm still waiting for (you know, the ones you owe me for being your friend and fan club president!)

Hey, it's late & nobody's looking so maybe I'll get the last word in on your Mom. Although it's already all been said. As Carol and Nancy alluded, I don't it's right to try to pass your sister off as your mother. Really! She is so young and spunky and smart and sweet. Tell her I said so. Kinda reminds me of a certain hotshot PR genius/cycling fanatic. Second, love hearing about how little Gini created and led the troops. (We have much in common.) I hope this is the start of more Christy Norton/Gini Dietrich videos. Great fun and a really nice, very personal peek into your life. Love it!

Ben, this is twice now! Woo hoo!!

Dan, get your backwards bike riding skills down. We have one month!

Nancy, she IS very young! I adore that woman.

Courtney, now that you're part of the AD team, you'll get to be IN the plays!

Brice, thanks! And thanks for pointing out the paradox. LOL!

Deb, in the kitchen, huh? Maybe when I visit her we'll do that.

Carol, I said this on FB and I'll repeat it here...my mom will SO LOVE YOU when she reads this.

Mike, I'd never considered that keeping you in line in high school would train me for dealing with difficult clients. LOL!

Jan, I'm waiting!

Dana, love, love, love, love you back!

NCJ, she's funny, huh?? :)

PR, I guess that check arrived?!

DeAnn, thanks!!

Gabriella, you should SO do it! The subtitles would be awesome!

Del, THANKS! :)

Abbie, the picture is a drawing my grandpa did when he was very sick. It was my job to make sure he got outside every day so the picture holds a very special place in my heart. It's one of the few things I have of him.

DANNY BROWN!!! Are you calling me bossy?!?!

Is "take charge" mum code for "bossy"? ;-)

Love this post, Gini - such a human side that can never be a bad thing. :)

love your mom! you look just like her. Tell me, is the picture behind you something you drew as a kid?

thanks for introducing us to her. enjoy the rest of your visit.

That was too cute. Your mom is awesome.

Very cute! I wish I could do that with my mamma... problem is her accent is so heavy I would have to subtitle the video ;) Nice to meet you Christy.

I love it! :) Great interview.

Yea! Gini's mom! Nice to meet you Christy! You should be very proud of your daughter!

She's a smart woman and a blast to be around! Nice job!

LOVE that you did this. Your mom is just ADORABLE! Glad you got to spend time with her -- hope it was a good visit! ;)

Love, love, love, love, love.

Gini,
Adorable. You look like your mom. We'd put my mom on but her "filter" is a little rusty so it could go either way!

When we correct her for some crazy statement, she always says, "I'm 83 years old, what are they gonna do, kill me?"

Hi Gini's mom, you did a great job. I know she kept me in line for the most part for 3 years (consider that training for dealing with difficult clients?!?). She's the bee's knees and now we know why.

Sorry, Gini! I do NOT believe that is your mother. I'm sure she's your identical twin sister! The truth will set you free . . .

Love...love...love this opportunity to "meet" your mom!! I enjoyed another insight into what has made YOU such an effective business woman. Who knew??

I'd really love to see a Part II ~ Gini & Christy "In the Kitchen."

Enjoyed this & your mom is too precious!

That's so fun, Gini. A young Gini and the great paradox - coloring inside the lines while thinking outside the box. :)

Such a fun treat to "meet" your Mom! Get cuter, the two of you, I dare you! Wish we could see some of those plays you used to make with the siblings, he he he.

Gini, I LOVED watching this as I love the relationships moms and daughters, and moms and all their children, have!

1) She is very, very young!
2) I can definitely see the resemblance.
3) I have a feeling that if you had let this go on for a few more minutes, Christy would have taught us many important things about life and about you. I can see her leadership tendencies as well! She was getting in to it!
4) I am one of 5 children too!

Gini, thanks so much for giving us an introduction to your mom! I'm so happy she agreed to do it even though she didn't want to.

You always learn more about a person after meeting their parents, so I appreciate this window into your life.

Just don't try to get me to be part of one of your plays!

Your Mom did a great job bringing you up!! Both of you should be proud and greatful, as you both have gifts most don't have.

Thanks Jon! She's a pretty special person...but she did NOT want to do the video. At the end she said, "Oh that wasn't too bad." :)

I LOVE YOUR MOM!!!!!!!!!

I decided Gini, that you can be my sister so I can have your mom also! With all those kids, she will not even know I am there!

Nick, you're probably right...you'd blend right in!

WAIT! HOLD ON! The phone is held..... I do not BLEND anywhere....... I am super scared now! (Nick, please think before you just send adoption papers because someone is super cool arghhhh)
