The Spin Sucks Inquisition: Travis Peterson

You know what I love about Spin Sucks?

I have made SO MANY friends in the comments here. It’s pretty incredible, actually, and I’m not sure there is another site in our industry that can claim the same.

One of those friends is Travis Peterson. Though he has cautiously stuck his toe in the commenting waters, I’ve gotten to know him through email exchanges and every-so-often Zoom video chats.

Not only do we have a lot in common, business-wise, we have many of the same interests and passions.

Though I write this while it is snowing in Chicago and he comes to you from, well, here…

…we still like one another (though he does like to rub it in).

I’m excited to do the Inquisition on video with him so you can begin to like him as much as I do.

The Spin Sucks Inquisition

I asked Travis the normal questions (which you can find below):

  • Tell us who you are and what you do.
  • What is the biggest mistake you’ve made in the past six months?
  • What is one of the biggest trends you’ll be using this year?
  • What is one thing about yourself that would surprise most people?
  • What is the best book you’ve read in the last six months?
  • What is your latest Netflix binge?
  • The Five Second Rule.
  • Where can people find you online?

If you can’t access the video below, you can find it by clicking here.

And, because I tease him about it in the video, here is the house he built for his kids in the backyard:

Now that you’ve learned a bit about Travis, get your finger ready to start clicking and stalk him online.

You can find him on:

Now the floor is yours. Say hello to Travis!

  • Where to begin with singing the praises of this inquisition? First of all I must commend your stellar choices in inquisitees — don’t know what the proportion of Florida-based subjects has been since you’ve started doing video but it’s always a good choice :-). // I agree with Travis — an in person meetup (beachside, non hurricane, pro ziplining) is in order! And honest to goodness Telly Savalas would have been my first bald guy reference too! Another fun one – we really do need to meet someday Travis! And Gini! (and okay okay Laura too!).

    • Telly Savalas! I was like, “WHAT?!?!” LOL!!

    • Laura Petrolino

Oh geez….glad I made the parentheses at least….love you too Paula 😉

  • This just isn’t fair. Pictures of the beach on a cold/rainy/snowy/evil day in Chicago. But I still enjoyed getting to know Travis. And, wow, Telly Savalas? That’s right up there with my Phil Donahue answer!

    • I totally bombed the bald question….Telly? Really? Thankfully they cut away from my screen when I face-palmed myself!

      • Not at all, that was a great answer. I would have said something even more obscure, like Yul Brynner.

        • Laura Petrolino

Hulk Hogan was the first one that came to my mind. And then LL Cool J, Jason Kid, Ray Allen (basketball has a ton), oh and Jason Statham, Mike Tyson! I’m good at this one!

      • I wish I had that kind of control. It cuts away when someone else speaks (cough, Laura, cough).

    • Right? I just told him it’s snowing here. Totally unfair.

  • Corina Manea

Hey Travis, it’s great to meet you!

Oh my, 15 minutes from the beach. I so envy you! BTW, a gazillion years ago I’ve seen a series called “Pensacola: Wings of Gold.”

The house you built for the little ones is so cool! I bet they are all the time playing in it (I would).

    Great Inquisition!
