@ginidietrich My youngest son would move to Chicago in a second, especially if he could hear the 7th inning stretch from Wrigley. He went there last summer for the first time to see the Cubs (lifelong fan) with some fraternity brothers and he LOVED it.

My wife would move to the beach in a second, no questions asked. I think I could do it and enjoy it. I would definitely have to get a boat and I would probably be on the water a lot. They do have some pretty awesome sunsets on the west side of Fla beaches.

Nice, Lisa -- "Counterinsurgency" is about the best metaphor I've heard for this. Back in the old Michael Porter school of competitive strategy, brand protection was entirely focused on "moats" and "walls" called "barriers to entry" (things like economies of scale, product differentiation, creating switching costs, influencing government policy, etc.) We're all just too distributed and exposed now for fixed fortifications. It's a brave new world of "listening posts" and quick response tactics :)

@bdorman264 When I moved to Chicago, I was afraid I wouldn't appreciate it as much, after a while. But I still love it. The skyline still makes me breathless. I still ride the lakefront. I still get chills when I hear the seventh inning stretch at Wrigley from my porch. And it's been 10 years. If you make a point to appreciate it, you will. Now...are you moving?
