A Little Break from PR and Marketing

It’s Facebook question of the week time (clap, clap, clap)!

Except.

I didn’t record a video.

I’m not really sure what happened. Typically I get up long before the sun comes up. This morning, however, Mr. D’s alarm went off at 5:45 and it woke me from the dead.

It means I was a little more than an hour behind.

Which equates to no video. Well, no video from me.

Instead I thought I’d share a video with you that had me laughing so hard, I was crying.

I was on the El, headed to the Loop to have drinks with Danny Brown and some of our social media friends, while I watched this. I was laughing out loud.

Sitting by myself, earphones in, on the train.

Laughing. Out. Loud.

Let’s be real. Ellen, by herself, is hilarious. When you add in Kristin Bell and a sloth, downright gut belly laughing ensues.

I thought it was worth having its own blog post vs. being one of five in Gin and Topics tomorrow.

I hope you find it as hilarious as I did.

If you can’t see it in your Reader or email, click here. Trust me. You want to watch this.

Oh! And go stop by our Facebook page and leave us a question on the wall. That way I’ll feel guilty if I skip the video again.

    @ginidietrich is it skiing cause that’s what I need right now : )

    Its 10 at night here… I laughed so loud I think I scared my neighbors….

  3. Maranda says:

    Kristen is one of the most underrated people on the planet. I saw this the other day and it was hilarious – plus I could totally sympathize to her emotional range. I’ve been a big fan of hers since Veronica Mars (which, BTW, is also underrated and is completely amazing).

      @Maranda Did you notice one of her fingernails is missing nail polish? Molli tells me that’s the trend. I think she’s human and it chipped off and her BF got it on video.

      • Maranda says:

        @ginidietrich I did notice that. I also noticed how good her nails looked on Ellen show, so she recently had them done before an important event. I’m inclined to agree with you, Gini, because KBell really is the most human of the “famous” people to me. If you do not follow her on Twitter, you should. She’s been periodically sending pictures to update followers on her emotional status. Hilarious!

  4. I left a question for you last week – and you ignored me. Jerk. <3

    Funny and very honest. Part of me thinks Ms. Bell is very gutsy for sharing that video, but the other part tells me that losing one’s sh*t over a petting zoo critter is just a little this side of weird.

  6. Sitting in my office… laughing all by myself. Good stuff! ๐Ÿ™‚

    @SociallyGenius Funny, right?

    @MirrorDotMe That made me laugh so hard

    Nice share Gini! That was fun to watch.

  10. She’s unbelievably cute!

  11. Cision says:

    I LOVED this video!! I was cracking up at work when i watched it…my cube mates definitely think I’m crazy with my random laughing outbursts. Kristen Bell is adorable, and I especially loved the end where she says “He’s coming for the party?!”

  12. Loved it. Very shareable.

  13. KenzDawn says:

    I shared this a few days ago because it absolutely made my day. I was practically crying I was laughing so hard — and because her reactions are so darn cute!

  14. lulugrimm says:

    @ginidietrich Pretty incredible. Got a good laugh earlier in the week. Hi by the way:-)

  15. suddenlyjamie says:

    @ginidietrich THANK YOU for the clip of Kristen Bell on Ellen. I almost started crying I laughing so hard. ๐Ÿ™‚ Perfect!

  16. adamjury says:

    @suddenlyjamie I <3 Kristen Bell so much.

  17. ariherzog says:

    @ginidietrich Hah, yeah I saw that the other day through @theellenshow on Facebook. Are you a slothhead?

  18. mjkoehler says:

    @ginidietrich You laughing at this? Sooooo shocking! Both are adorable.

  19. ginidietrich says:

    @adamtoporek Funny, right?

  20. bradmarley says:

    That’s the best thing I’ve seen this morning. Thank you.

    p.s. How do you get out of bed before 5 a.m.? That’s impressive.

  21. John_Trader1 says:

    If a sloth and a hedgehog had a cuteness contest, who would win?

  22. HowieSPM says:

    I bet when people meet bdorman264 or @Sean McGinnis or @jasonkonopinski for the first time they react in the same way. Almost like being tasered but in an uber gleeful kind of way.

  23. Dammit I’m sitting here crying with laughter. Ellen + Kristen Bell + Sloth = perfect storm of comedy. Seriously, though, people who aren’t afraid to show their “kid-side” are the best. Remember when that director won the Oscar for Life is Beautiful and ran across the tops of the chairs? We all need to tap into that. Thanks for sharing this.

  24. I LOVE this video. And then, one of my Debbie Downer friends told me to read this: http://laineygossip.com/Articles/Details/22548/Kristen-Bell-sloth-love-on-Ellen. Not that Lainey is a credible source, BUT I wish I wouldn’t have read her post…because Kristen’s video is now a little less funny :/.

    • ginidietrich says:

      @Katie Gutwein Of course it was produced and pre-planned, you goof. Do you also think the Iron Chefs find out their secret ingredient during the taping and really only have one hour to produce four meals? It’s still hilarious because she allowed her home video to be shown on Ellen. That’s takes some serious huevos, as lisa gerber would say.

  25. HeidiMassey says:

    I so didn’t think I was gonna laugh. Especially when I first started watching it. But when she got up out of bed and was positively joyful about the slot coming to her party, it was hysterical. Reminded me of when my kids were little and had the same sort of reaction. They were about 4 years old at the time.

    • ginidietrich says:

      @HeidiMassey Yeah, for some reason I can’t see your son having that same kind of reaction anymore. Hilarious!

  26. Tinu says:

    Dood. That was sooooo funny at the end especially. I My havE made myself tired enough to fall asleep just from laughing.

  27. ginidietrich says:

    @pr_sjs Funny, isn’t it??

  28. […] And, just because two guys kicking one another or cute puppies might work this week doesn’t mean they won’t be overshadowed the following week by a celebrity crying over a sloth. […]
