#FollowFriday: Arik Hanson
Today’s #FollowFriday is for Arik Hanson, the man who created the PR Readers Choice awards and HAPPO (with the uber-charming Valerie Simon) and who is a huge proponent for 12for12K and 30 Under 30.
Arik’s tireless work for the industry, constant ideas for helping others, and great nature make him one of the most engaging personalities online. Personally, he has a great love for golf and recently took a trip that made even me jealous.
Our win of PR Blog of the Year (had to get that in there!) notwithstanding, follow Arik on Twitter, subscribe to his blog, and read everything he writes!

Gini/Valerie/Abbie/Justin:
Thanks for the kind words. Coming from you four, that means an awful lot. Mutual admiration society, for sure.
Mr. Brown, you on the other hand... ;)
@arikhanson
Smart people make you think and they don't necessarily think they know it all. Arik is exactly that...a wickedly smart person who makes you use your brain and adds value to (without trying to own) every conversation. IOW, a perfect #FollowFriday.
I know I don't have his looks. I know I don't have his money. I know I don't have his connections, his knowledge of fine wines. I know sometimes when I eat I get this clicking sound in my jaw...
Simply put, Arik rocks and this is a great recognition of him. :)
Gini -- a great recommendation indeed. Arik and I connected on twitter about a year ago, in part, because of our Minnesota connection and some friends in common from the Twin Cities. When Arik asked if I would be the HAPPO champion here in Phoenix I wholeheartedly agreed. He practices what he preaches and engages with his community.
Uber-charming FOR SURE!
It's no secret that I am a tremendous fan of Arik... integrity, creativity, sincerity and sense of humor are just a few of the reasons I feel privileged to be a part of his network. Arik has helped me to redefine the way I think about community... Great pick Gini.
PS uber-charming? Awesome. I may have to start putting that on my name tag as a reminder :)
