#FollowFriday: Liz ReusswigAt the now infamous Social Slam, where I keynoted last year, I met one Ms. Liz Reusswig in the lobby of the hotel.

Our fate was sealed from that moment on.

A communicator and marketer by heart, she not only runs a boutique agency focusing on those services for clients, she founded Kids Theatre News.

Which makes total sense. If you missed her daughters performing in a recent Gin and Topics, I highly recommend you go back and watch it (they’re in the number three spot). They are not only adorable (and I want to kidnap them), they are extremely talented.

So it makes sense their talented, wonderful, charming mother would create a “one-stop shop” for all your theatre news. It only serves central Pennsylvania right now, but if I know Liz, it’ll eventually branch out and become the place for all things good and fair in kids theatre.

Liz at Work

In her work life, Liz has quite a bit of experience working with politicians and the government (poor thing), but also spends a good amount of her time volunteering for youth organization, such as Junior Achievement and The Children’s Center.

This is good! She’s raising the next generation of politicians and, if she has any say about it, I know they’ll be strong, ethical, worldly-minded individuals.

Liz is, hands-down, on of the most charismatic, grounded people you’ll ever meet. She is the person who learns a little bit about you and then uses that information to provide thoughtful messages, comments, and gifts.

Don’t get me wrong. She also has a snarky (witty?) side that is hilarious and sometimes non-sensical. She definitely knows how to stir the pot and keep it active…which, as we all know, is something I love to do as well.

Liz Online

I highly recommend you get to know her. She’s funny and she’s smart so she’s a great combination of someone you want in a friend.

You can find her on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and on her blog.

Don’t worry if you don’t love PR, marketing, or theater. You can talk to Liz about almost anything. And you’ll want to because she’s a ton of fun to have around!

“Liz has quite a bit of experience working with politicians and the government (poor thing)” – hahahahahaha!!! Liz frigging ROCKS – and when I use ‘frigging’, you know I’m not kidding around -eh? Funny, thoughtful, sharp and zingy, she makes me laugh out loud at least twice a day – “every mall should have at least 4 lions!” She’s going to FREAK OUT when she sees this – today is gonna be fun!!! Congrats Liz!!! xo

Following — and what a miracle worker if she’s going to turn the next generation of politicians into ethical, worldly-minded individuals!! Big task!!

Great #FF – getting to know Liz (virtually only so far) has be an absolute pleasure.  She’s a keeper!  Happy Friday all!

  4. Yes yes yes yes. Liz is awesome.

  5. One of the most warm and genuine people I have met through you!  Always so supportive and giving with her comments online. The talent of her children befits the cliche of ‘the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’.

annelizhannan Anneliz, I’m so happy to have met you, too!  You are definitely one of the sweetest people I know! 🙂  Thank you for your kind comments!

I got to meet Liz at SoSlam13 and she was awesome. Good choice ginidietrich

  8. An excellent choice, but really, ginidietrich , I beat you to this. You’re only finally giving Liz her due because of her well-deserved mention in the Spin Sucks Song http://spinsucks.com/social-media/followfriday-ginid/
Glad to see you here at last Liz!

Here’s to meeting more people in person from this crazy clan of yours ginidietrich like I got to earlier this week! Congrats on your #FF Liz and hope our paths cross before too long. 🙂

Politicians, government AND kids; now that’s a monumental task….
If you saw my Facebook share and mentioned how hard you must have had to work to get a spot after creativeoncall effort, of course I was kidding. The only person who worked harder than Chuck was me and fortunately I was first because after he raised the bar w/ talent and creativity, I just picked up my ball and went home.
Keep up the good work, it’s good to see there are still ‘good’ people out there making it happen. Nice to know ya….

Now I will continue to float through this AMAZING day…compliments of you all! xo

  16. Oooooh Liz! I know we’ve chatting on Facebook before, but now that I know you are a theater geek as well I’m even more super excited to get to know you. As a child who was involved in theater growing up (and was fairly certain for a large portion of my life I was going to be a broadway star), I’m a huge advocate of children getting involved in theater and other expressive arts that build confidence, creativity, cultural and artistic appreciation and overall human empathy (since they need to learn to displace themselves from their own self focused world to understand the feelings and emotions of another character). All three traits increasingly undervalued or nurtured!
Anyway, congrats and looking forward to getting to know you better!

    • lizreusswig says:

LauraPetrolino OHHHHHH, I’m so excited to chat more with you about this!  It’s one of my real passions, especially since my kiddos are so involved in musical theatre!  You are so right – it is amazing what performing does for kids!  We must connect soon and theatre geek ourselves into a frenzy!! 😉

  19. John_Trader1 says:

Nice meeting you Liz. Anyone who works with politicians is nothing short of a hero to me!

    • lizreusswig says:

John_Trader1 Nice meeting you, too! Politics & governing are very, very interesting! 😉

      • lizreusswig John_Trader1 I think they all love running for office then sit there in shell shock when told they have to govern, I mean look at Jack bauer’s legacy running the Chicago School system. He gave away school contracts for milk bones. Which was his downfall.

  20. lizreusswig and politics you just have no idea. I first met her in 1986. It was a Bears v Giants game at the Meadowlands. I was tailgating a punk fresh out of high school. Bears were NFL champs but this was the Giant’s year. The newspaper said ‘WAR IN THE MEADOWLANDS’ and of course Liz showed up as an Anti-War protester worried Bears were going to be killed. Real Bears not football players. It was really cute. The Bears lost and she was going bonkers screaming ‘Killing Bears isn’t Fair!’

Then in 1996 I saw her again. She helping Sonny Bono get elected in Palm Springs. She came up with the famous slogan ‘Vote for Bono not Yoko Ono’. Of course he won in a landslide.
In 1998 we crossed paths again in Florida. It was the famous McRibb vs McNugget face off. Of course she sided with the McRib. I mean it was tangy and you needed wetnaps to eat. But it was McNugget who also won in a landslide. She used to say ‘Don’t be a Dork Vote for the Pork!

Other famous slogans Liz is famous for:
If you want to chill Vote for Bill!

Don’t be a Tush vote for Bush!
    This Hot Momma loves Obama!
Notice all 3 are two term winners. See the pattern?
She also co-wrote the famous Wu-Tang Clan song Bring on the Ruckus. Now just curious if she will be celebrating her big day today with Method Man and Raekwon?

Howie Goldfarb Ok, I’m laughing so hard right now that tears are streaming down my cheeks!  Obviously, wherever you live Howie, Happy Hour has started, but dang this is really, really funny!

      • lizreusswig Liz actually so busy with work it isn’t funny. I saw the FF this morning and I knew you would be sad and ginidietrich would be angry had I not given you the traditional roast. 8) Glad you enjoyed. BTW my father in law worked really hard to save Bear habitat on @Sugarbush_VT in the 90’s. and I joke with him as a Steelers fan how could he do such a thing doesn’t he hate the Bears? and he always says ‘No just the Patriots, Tom Brady is a sissy’. Gini has seen his mountain man beard she knows he can get away with such a comment.

        • lizreusswig says:

Howie Goldfarb Well we don’t want to anger ginidietrich so – Thank You!  Thought it was delightful and must say I rather liked the roasting!
BTW – I now adore your FIL…I AM NOT a Patriots fan either!  And really a quarterback should not have “cuter” hair than Justin Bieber!  Anyway, my dislike for the Pats is a long story that has something to do with Hartford, CT and my childhood obsession with the Bears (& of course my loyalty to my home state team NY Giants!!) 😉

  21. lizreusswig says:

So my 12 yr old DD (darling daughter) just read the above post by “the COOL Miss Gini” (ginidietrich)…she said, “It’s all true…they can’t put anything on the Internet that’s not true!” – Bonjour!
LOL – then I read Howie’s post below – oh well!
Wishing all the Spin Suck crazies, oops, I mean community a wonderful and fun weekend!  Mine certainly has started off spectacularly!! xo

  22. RebeccaTodd says:

Woohoo! A well deserved shout out to a smart, kind, and thoughtful lady. Liz, I’ve enjoyed getting to know you from a distance and look forward to the day we can finally meet in person.

    • lizreusswig says:

RebeccaTodd Thank you, Rebecca! I can’t wait either…it will happen and we’ll have a blast! So glad to have met you through ginidietrich, too – we’re quite a crew! 😉
