Nancy Davis! Get your slugger out! We’re going on an adventure.

It’s #FollowFriday time and you’re the honoree. This also means you’re out of Facebook timeout. For now.

Now, now. Don’t take advantage. If you really want to know, the Ms on M&Ms are painted on by machines. Happy now?

For everyone else: I met Nancy IRL (in real life) at BlogWorld in May. She warned me that she was tiny but mighty and she did not disappoint. She is tiny and mighty and downright funny.

One of the very first blog posts I read of hers, she introduced us to Douglas, her son, as the love of her life. She’s a single mom (she left D’s dad because he was abusive; another really good blog post) and the stories she has about this kid are fantastic. Apparently he’s quite the baseball junkie and could outsmart most sportscasters…and he’s only eight (or did he just turn nine?).

You know how we talked about building your community by commenting on blogs where you want to get to know the author? Well Nancy does this really well.

That’s how we first met. She comments on Spin Sucks nearly every day. She also is always demanding cake, which I guess she thinks I can deliver in a blog post.

OK. Fine. I can. Sort of. A cake…in my favorite color. I hope it’s chocolate underneath all that pink.

You know what I love most about her, though? She always texts me for food/recipe advice and she uses the recipes I’ve created. She’s made my zucchini bread recipe (er, my mom’s recipe) at least twice now. I love that.

So there you are. Check her out; she’s tons of fun. You can find her on Twitter, on Google+, at her blog…and always in the comments here.
