You know how, when you set out using the social tools, you really have no idea what you’re doing, let alone what kind of brand you’re going to build? What? That was just me? Oh.

Well, Lisa Drubec had it all figured out when she named her blog The Friendly Blogger.

Not only is she friendly, she’s hysterical. And we all know I love anyone with a great sense of humor who can also portray that online.

I’ve been reading her blog lately, though, not because she’s funny, but because she’s teaching me a good deal about search engine marketing, the right way to build your database, and how to make a little money while you experiment.

She started in SEO because, in her words, she thought she make a gazillion dollars while she folded towels. But then she realized that wasn’t going to happen so she (pun intended) threw in the towel.

But she came back on the scene a couple of years ago and she’s very open about what she’s learned, mistakes to avoid, and things to consider.

She is about as selfless as they come, guest blogging all over the web and allowing you to promote yourself right on her site.

I’m not an SEO whiz (yet) so I read everything I can on the topic and I experiment here and on Arment Dietrich. I’m even going to experiment with some SEM on the financials for PR pros webinar we did last month. But my point is that Lisa does everything by the book and she tells it like it is. There is no black hat with her and you know what she’s advising is going to take time, but it will work.

And that is why she is today’s #FollowFriday. So subscribe to and read her blog. Follow her on Twitter. Like her on Facebook. Get to know her. YWRI.
