Gin and TopicsBy Gini Dietrich

Well, I guess summer is coming to an end. Labor Day is next weekend and, well, I’m sad.

Everyone knows how much I love winter and the snow, but for some reason, I don’t feel like we’ve had enough summer this year.

I guess it was the full six weeks of rain we had in June and half of July.

Alas.

Here we are.

It’s time to start looking forward to Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I’ll get there. Begrudgingly.

But I do have a little sunshine to add to your day!

Gin and Topics is ready for you.

This week’s videos are courtesy of John Trader, Kristen Daukas, Susan Cellura, and yours truly.

(We haven’t had a video from Mattie Dietrich in a while. She needs to get to it! Guilt her into it for me.)

5. Country Hip Hop Dancing. Diane Horner is back with tips on how to dance…70s style. In this video, she and her, um, back-up dancers (??) teach you how to hip hop to country music. I expect every one of you to practice this this weekend.

4. McWhopper Proposal. In honor of Peace Day, September 21st, Burger King is inviting McDonald’s to team up to create the McWhopper—a burger built for world peace. This is the ask from Burger King to McDonald’s, which is totally fun. But it might be more fun because of McDonald’s answer (which was a resounding, and not fun, no).

3.Taylor Swift Acapella Parody. If these guys can’t make science cool, I don’t know who can. This is pretty darn good!

2. Tortoise Attacks Cat. I don’t know why this is so funny, but it is. I would feel sorry for the cat, but…well, I don’t. You go tortoise! Get Fred!

1. The Recital. Stupid Quaker. Get the tissues out. You’ll cry. I’m sorry.

Have a great weekend!
