The Spin Sucks #FollowFriday Recommendations for 2013By Gini Dietrich

Because Monday is a holiday for all of North America and LOTS of people will be sneaking out early today to extend their weekend just a little bit longer (raising my hand), I thought I’d do a recap of all of our #FollowFriday to date.

This makes it easy on me, of course, because I already have half the year complete from doing this very thing on July 5, but also because this means I will only have to do a quarter of the year in December.

If you are so inclined, there is a Feedly subscription to all of the blogs and a Twitter list so you can follow everyone’s feeds.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Me? My brother, brother-in-law, and nieces are visiting so I see a beach and picnics in my future.

  26. A cyclist, a singer-songwriter, a PR professional, and all-around good guy, please reacquaint yourselves with Pepe LePew, er Bob LeDrew.
  27. Is he really Dear Abby? My friends and I think he might be, but you know him as Josh Wilner.
  28. One of the only women at work, Susan Cellura knows how to get things done and still be respected for her gender.
  29. Jen Zingsheim not only was featured just a week ago, she gets to remain in the sidebar of the blog for one more week.

Not to be left behind, while I was celebrating my 10 year anniversary in Paris with Mr. D, Jay Dolan and Chuck Kent created #FollowFriday posts not to be missed.

And three weeks ago, I was suffering from a concussion, road rash up and down my body, and Toby the Hematoma (who has no intention of going anywhere) and couldn’t focus. Chuck Kent not only volunteered to help, he wrote a smashing post about the qualities you need to receive a #FollowFriday feature here.

Don’t forget…an easy way to follow everyone is both on the Feedly subscription to all of the blogs and on a Twitter list.

  • And here I was all prepared to FB follow, Twitter follow, LinkedIn follow, G+ Circle someone new! Just when I’ve learned not to spill the FF beans before they’ve figured out they’re “the one,” it’s a day to stand down. Great list!!!!

    • biggreenpen LOL!! Yeah…I figure no one is going to be around much today so why highlight someone who will get half the normal attention?

      • ldiomede

ginidietrich ….or you can just highlight someone whose only 50% as interesting as your former inductees. LOL.

    • biggreenpen Did you really spill the beans before? hmmm….: )

      • Word Ninja biggreenpen *cue remorseful sigh* yes.

  • Love roundup posts like this. I am SURE I missed following someone. Putting this on my to-do for this weekend. Watch out fellow #FF peeps…..I’ll soon be watching you! 🙂

    • TaraGeissinger I’m sure you have something better to do this holiday weekend!

      • ginidietrich TaraGeissinger Actually, yes. Mark’s HUGE 40th birthday party. 50+ people coming to my house for a Mexican Fiesta. But don’t burst my bubble. I feel so much better *pretending* that I’m going to be productive…

        • TaraGeissinger HOLY CRAP! That sounds awesome! What does one serve at a Mexican fiesta?

        • ginidietrich TaraGeissinger Lots of queso and margaritas of course! 🙂

  • bowden2bowden

A fine list, thanks for the second light (worthy)! Enjoy the holiday weekend Gini.

  • Tell Toby the Hematoma to get lost. He’s overstayed his (un)welcome. Have a great Labor/Labour Day weekend, ginidietrich!

    • EdenSpodek He has overstayed his welcome. But I’m told it could be months so I’m bracing for that. Booooo.

  • Wow. All the FBI needed to do to capture their top 10 most wanted dangerous suspects was to come to SpinSucks? I promise I am not a snitch. I will let your reader figure out which 10 of the 29 they are after.
Anyone who can guess correctly which 10 , wins a Jack Bauer Bobblehead Doll courtesy of Chanel.

    • Howie Goldfarb No way. We have t-shirts now. They get a shirt.

  • I’m sneaking out, too, but had to stop by and tell everyone to have a great holiday weekend.

  • susancellura

Thanks for the second mention, Gini!!! I hope you and everyone has a great weekend!

  • I’m not crazy, it’s a chemical imbalance. Big difference! K?

  • Man oh man, I’m late to my own party here (fashionably late!).
You know what’s great about being a FF feature (triple threat F…wooo!) is that it’s a gift that keeps giving when you do these recaps (not to mention when I want to drop authority credentials randomly in my daily life, ie.
Hostess: “Yes ma’am, currently there is a 45 minute wait for a table”,
Me: “45 min wait!?! Do you not know how I am??? I was a Spin Sucks Follow Friday feature, you need to treat me with respect”
Hostess: “Oh my, so sorry ma’am, I can’t believe I didn’t recognize you. I’m so ashamed. Here we will seat you right away and your meal is complimentary, plus when you are done we will have washed and detailed your car and have it waiting for you and filled with 6 dozen tulips. Thank you so, so, so much for honoring our restaurant with your visit”
    ….stuff like that.)
Anyway, I digress (ha, when do I not ‘digress’, I think I’m in a constant state of ‘digressing’, look even now I’m digressing about digressing, that’s skill folks! Pure, unbridled skill! BOOM!)
Now I’ve totally lost track of the point I was initially going to make, but regardless..WOOOOO! Always an honor to have my name mentioned with all of these other gosh darn amazing people! And I’ve had so much fun ‘meeting’ all and making many new friends 🙂

    • LauraPetrolino You know what? You’re going to be featured AGAIN at the end of the year!

      • YES!!!!! What a gift you are giving to the world! More me!

  • LauraPetrolino you are in good company! We should have a #FF get together some day on either  Skype or Hangout as an event!!!

I felt to honored to be selected for a #FF person and on my birthday no less! Gini made an already special day even better. I also really needed a pick me up that day and it did that and then some. BTW I totally cried at my desk when I read what she had wrote… I don’t think anyone knew that before now. So thank you Gini and I hope everyone had an amazing weekend.
