Great ideas and great post, I think gift baskets are a great idea when sending gifts through the mail. I also think that food gift baskets as unsafe as it sounds can be a great idea.

Gini, these are great ideas!

I will add that Groundswell in the CD version is a good idea. Anyone who drives a lot will appreciate "reading" this book during those boring drives.

I bought the book and CD, and finished the CD first. I still need the book so I can mark it up for future reference when quoting for Social Media presentations, but was happy to be able to listen also.

Gini, thanks for the great list...this is a public service! I'll echo your sentiments on the Kindle and raise you. This device has surpassed my love affair w. my many Apple products, because it gives me my favorite gift of all...access to great reading of all kinds, everywhere. And no heavy book bags to carry! I carry a veritable library on my kindle and I love the subscriptions to some of my favorite business periodicals! A great present for the voracious reader in your life.

Now, about those interesting sounding headphones. You've stimulated my curiosity!

Best,

Art

John - I love wine and our client gifts the psst few years have been wine-related...a decanter with our logo, a nice wine opener..stuff they use over and over again. Someone once sent me Root Beer with my dog's photo as the label. I drank the Root Beer and kept the bottles. Loved that idea, too.

Nathan - I've never tried Kuru so plug away!

Jamie - Now Poken is following me on Twitter! I actually really like that idea, but don't like that everyone else has to have one for it to work. I guess if we all buy one, it'll work brilliantly!

A gift should do two things:
1. Remind the recipient of who sent it, without much thought.
2. Last long enough to remind the recipient throughout the year who sent it.

So, a bottle of wine, or even scotch, should not be considered a viable business holiday gift.

I'm an avid cook, and most of my clients know this about me. So I try to encompass that into my gift giving. Example: last year I gave clients a box of eight different spice mixtures from Penzey's Spices - Indian spices, dry rubs for steaks and chops, etc. It is almost December, and I'm still hearing from people who are enjoying the spices.

This is what I'm looking to accomplish again this year - I'm open to suggestions. But the goal should always be the same, as covered in the two ""rules" above that I've adopted.

Gini,

Sounds like a great list of gifts, if you only could get one, which one would you pick? While I am here I have to throw out a shameless plug for Kuru Footwear (www.kurufootwear.com), anyone that is traveling a lot and needs a comfortable pair of slip on shoes for travel, come check us out.

I'd like to add the Poken to this list (http://www.startpoken.com). Very cool gizmo for the SM crowd. It's in its infancy right now, but these will take off. Do you Poken? (I have the 'Ninja' if you want to Poken with me). :-)

The really trick would be if you could plug ur Westone's into ur Kindle while reading either Groundswell or Good To Great enjoying a soak with Joyful Bath Co Products while munching on some heavenly treats from Chocolate Gourmet.

Thanks for this great list.. The Kindle really is one of the coolest gadgets on the market today and Groundswell and Good To Great are excellent reads.

And knowing what I know about you I truly believe that Westone, Joyful Bath Co and Chocolate Gourmet r top notch as well.

I hope you are doing well.
