Very good post indeed… But there are a few more things to take into consideration. Like adding your blogfeed to RSS sites for indexation and such. Google Webmaster tools and Analytics both needs a lot of traffic and data to be useful, so the first thing is getting visitors. Spread the word of your new blog by signing up at RSS Sites, and joining communities where you can have a profile with a link to your blog.

Jason – I don’t believe in feed linking. I think it’s unethical and squirrely. That being said, I know there are a lot of bloggers who do it for the SEO purpose. If you decide to do it, be careful about it so as not to be seen as unethical.

While I agree with this entry, have you ever researched about how feed linking works? I read an article somewhere about it being unusually effective for search engine optimization.
