It’s appalling when the media tries to dismantle high-profile families just so they can have a story. Even though this has been ruled as an accidental overdose today, I hope they give Heath’s family the time to grieve without added speculation.

It is a terrible shame that when the media fills societies’ heads with such brash speculations. I haven’t heard if Stilnox has issued any statements concerning the tragedy and the relation to the drug, but they most definitely should. Taking a proactive approach and showing that they are concerned with the incident shows that they do have some depth to themselves as a company who makes medication to help people and not just for a profit. Fight the spin any way we can!

And what about the reputation of Heath Ledger? The media is already assuming he OD’d on drugs because they’re painting him to be a party animal. They’re also, for the first time in a year, stating that drugs and alcohol broke up he and Michelle Williams. This is all speculation. As scary as it sounds, I hope they find he died of natural causes and put all the cynics to shame.
