Seven Ways to Win Big with a Contest

Today’s guest post is written by Anne Weiskopf.

Shaw’s supermarkets (part of the SuperValu chain) launched a holiday giveaway in November worth more than $15 million in prizes and money saving offers across their 169 stores in five states.

The concept of the “Wish Big Win Big Holiday Giveaway” is simple and compelling: Shoppers are given a number of tickets based upon their total grocery purchase spend and specially marked items.

These tickets, when unsealed, reveal a 25-cent coupon for a product from a participating brand as well as four game markers.  Match the marker to a spot on the Official Game Board and you are “playing the game.”

I’ve never participated in a game contest or sweepstakes. But as the mother of two teenage boys, I shop for food – a lot (There’s a reason food is #2 on Maslow’s Hierarchy). And I hate going to the grocery store. Each step in the process from filing my cart, to packing the bags, paying (have you seen prices recently?) to loading my car and then unloading the groceries at home and putting them away – sucks. Contest: Top 25 Social Media Wins and Gaffes

SocialMediaWin

We are having a contest through the month of November and it is your opportunity to win fame, fortune, and fabulous prizes.

Well, a great wine opener anyway.
And a seat to our December webinar; The Spin Sucks Second Trends Webinar. (More on that later.)
And this lamp. (Not really a lamp; that’s a joke.)

We are in search of the most horrendous, and the most #winning social media experiences we’ve never heard of. That means we’re not interested in hearing about Kenneth Cole, or Chrysler again. Share with us organizations, celebrities, and individuals whom  you’ve seen either doing great things, or doing really annoying and bad things. Continue Reading »

To Do List Contest: Making Time for Social Media

As you know, our webinar next week helps you understand what to do next with social media through building an online community.

You’ve spent time building a blog, you have a Facebook page, you’re on LinkedIn and Twitter, but so what?  You did what you were supposed to do, right?  You got your business online.

The main reason these social media tactics have not resulted in anything is because there is not a clear day-to-day strategy pulling them all together and that’s because we all have too much to do on our to do lists and not enough time to do it!

My guess is that building these tools and maintaining them took up the amount of time you allotted to spend on social media.  I’m not here to tell you that social media results take time and should be paid attention to just as much as anything else, because you already know that. The Now Revolution: Want a Free Copy?

I received my copies of “The Now Revolution” last Thursday. While I’ve had a few days to dig into it, I’m not quite finished reading it so am not ready to give you a review.

What I will tell you, though, is I have lots of pages dog eared and lots of notes in the margins. So you’re going to get a full-on review when I finish. None of this scanning stuff. I’m actually reading every word.

But, I didn’t want you to have to wait for me to finish so you can enter the contest to receive your very own free copy of Jay Baer’s and Amber Naslund’s new book.

You may have heard that they gave two copies to 75 bloggers to give away to their readers. I get to keep one (the one I’ve marked up) and I get to give the second one away.

The catch? You have to enter a contest.

The best part? I get to decide the contest.

If you’re new here, you don’t know how much we love our contests. We love our contests!

It sort of began in November when the Arment Dietrich Facebook page hit 1,000 “likes” and we wanted to celebrate those who have come along on our crazy journey. We held a photo contest and gave away a Flip camera. John Heaney won that one with “Legally Gini.”

Just last week, we held a contest to name our top five stories of the week blog post (Barry Silver won with Gin and Topics) and we gave away a copy of Branding Yourself by Kyle Lacy and Erik Deckers.

And now we get to give away “The Now Revolution.” Continue Reading »

Announcing the ‘Gini Who?’ Photo Contest

We’ve been talking about giving back to our Arment Dietrich community and, when we surpassed 1,000 Facebook fans, we decided to put a contest into place. And get this, first prize wins a Flip camera!  Yes folks, you heard right. Once the contest ends, you will get to vote on the top three you like best. I will choose the grand prinze winner and that person will be sent a Flip video Ultra HD 4GB camera!

We call this contest “Gini Who?” because the contest involves turning Gini into different people or put in different places or situations.

All you have to do is use this image of Gini standing by the pool. Take that image and make it as funny or unique as you can, then post your new image of Gini on our Facebook  wall.

The Predictable Success Contest

Did I mention we’re going to have more contests and giveaways? I think I did!

It will come as no surprise, to those of you who read Spin Sucks daily, that I am a big fan of Les McKeown and that I love his book, Predictable Success. He has been kind enough to donate 10 books to us to giveaway to you! So we bring you…The Predictable Success Contest!

But, you’re going to have to do a bit of work. We’re looking for guest bloggers who don’t necessarily already have a blog, but have been curious about what it’s like to have a community. We’re looking for guest bloggers who have something to say about business growth and are willing to share their knowledge with the Spin Sucks readers AND with Les McKeown’s readers. Introducing the Arment Dietrich Tagline Contest

Last week we launched a Facebook fan page contest to create a new tagline for our newly designed Web site, set to launch late this week. We’ve had some great entries, but want to also open it to our blog readers.

Following are a couple of our favorites. But they are totally unprofessional, which is why we need your help.

* Arment Dietrich. Better Than Sex.

* Arment Dietrich. The Only Thing We Spin Is Our Bike.

The winner not only gains fame, but will have the tagline (with credit) on our home page. Heck, we might even have a t-shirt or mug to give the winner.

Before we changed the business model our tagline was “Service. Results. Spirit.” Boring, right?

But with the new Web site and our new business model (don’t know about the new business model? Read more here), we figure it’s a good time to get rid of the boring and introduce something really good.

So…I leave it in your hands. What tagline do you think best represents Arment Dietrich?
