Happy Holidays from Spin Sucks! We officially retired the Spin Sucks Inquisition last week with Sherrilynne Starkie.

But, with one more Friday in the year (we’re not running blog posts next Friday), I wanted to take a minute to tell each of you thank you.

If you prefer to read versus watching the video, the transcript follows.

Thank You and Happy Holidays!

Hey everyone! It’s Gini Dietrich and this week I am NOT here with another Spin Sucks Inquisition.

We have retired that series. But we are going to launch a brand, new series in January.

More on that after the holidays.

For now, I wanted to end the year by saying thank you.

The Spin Sucks Community

Thank you to the incredible Spin Sucks community.

I think you know I lovingly refer to you as the Crazies because there is not a more engaged, fulfilling community on the web.

I often tell the story that many of you have become friends, some of you have traveled across the country or across the ocean to meet, and two of you even got married!

If there is another community out there that can boast the same, I’d like to put you up against them.

I’m certain you’d win! (And I like to win so we’d totally win.)

I know, I know.

The next thing we have to do is plan an in-person event.

It’s not you; it’s me.

It’s a large undertaking and I’m naturally an introvert, so it’s a very overwhelming idea.

But I also know there is only one way to meet some of you in person—and give you a big hug—so we’ll look to doing something in 2017, even if it’s small and intimate.

For now, if you aren’t part of our Slack community, get your booty over there.

You’re missing out—and heaven knows, we don’t want you to have FOMO.

The Spin Sucks Students

Thank you to the Spin Sucks students.

There are hundreds of you—from all corners of the world—and you have given as much to me as I hope we’ve given to you.

I have learned that a certain part of the world despises that Christmas carols talk about snow.

And that Brexit was as shocking to most of you as Trump was to us.

I have learned the names of your children and gotten to know your spouses and pets.

The Spin Sucks Mastermind

Thank you to the forward-thinking and aggressive PR firm owners who are in my mastermind group.

The work I get to do with you each week is the most fulfilling of my career.

It’s incredible to watch you grow, to watch you exceed your goals, and to watch you win.

I’m proud to be a small part of all of your success.

The Arment Dietrich Clients

Thank you to our clients, most of whom have been with us several years, and let us do our thing.

For many of them, the PESO model was a test (a successful one, but still a test).

Thank you for letting us try new things on you.

My Crazy Team

And thank you to my team.

I often say this is the best team I have ever had the pleasure to work with—from Corina, who is a robot and Laura, who can literally read my mind to Dawn, who takes a constant learning attitude to everything she does and Erika, who has captured my voice almost better than me.

And to Pete, for whom a “Peteisms” channel exists in our company Slack because he makes me laugh so hard, I have to keep an inhaler in my desk drawer.

This team is experienced, funny, wise, trustworthy, and not afraid to keep me in check.

Thank you to all…and to all a good night.

Happy, happy holidays! I’ll “see” you in 2017.

P.S. We will not run blog posts on December 26, 30, or January 2. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming on January 3.
