#FollowFriday: Kristine Simpson
Many of you may not know Kristine Simpson.
She stalks Spin Sucks, but she doesn’t comment often so you wouldn’t recognize her name from there. But she’s someone you need to know!
Other than being an account coordinator at Thornley Fallis, she is the producer of Inside PR, the weekly podcast Joe Thornley, Martin Waxman, and I record. And she freaking rocks!
She got engaged a few months ago and blogged the experience, from her point-of-view…and then had her fiance do the same. Completely innovative and extremely touching, you get a special glimpse into her personal life.
But most of her blogging at Running a PR Life is about PR and social media. She has a new series called “PR Word of the Week,” where she asks one communication professional to choose a PR word and describe why it’s his or her favorite (it’s my turn next Tuesday – I still have to think of my word!).
She has a love for Canada’s Parliament history and procedure and even served as a Parliamentary tour guide. Which, if you know Joe Thornley, makes perfect sense she’s working for him. And she’s a huge volunteer, spending most of her time with non-profit organizations and lending her PR and digital skills to those who can’t afford to pay for professional help.
You know what I love most about her, though? I can imagine working with the Inside PR personalities could be pretty intimidating. But she embraces it and does an excellent job of engaging us with her personality thrown in. For those of you wanting to climb the corporate ladder, she’s a great role model of someone who takes the bull by the horns and is confident enough to run with the big boys.

6 years! Nice to be young and so much time ahead. I just got engaged less than a year after our first date LOL But I am way older than dirt and almost as old as @KenMueller so of course time is a ticking!
Grats Kristine on your FF nice to meet you. Hope Gini warned you of the Alien. Just ask @belllindsay how awful her life has been since her FF and meeting me. She might move to Madagascar now.

Dear @Kristinesimpson : As a former TV producer, I know only too well how hard it is to deal with stars - sweet jesus where do they *get* those swelled heads and ginormous egos!! ;) Keep up the good fight girlfriend. Has anyone mentioned yet that you're friggin' cute as a button...?? I suppose it's not politically incorrect to do so since I'm a gal also. Cute, smart, selfless, and ballsy...? What's not to love! Glad to meet you - @ginidietrich always and only picks the best. :)

Great to meet you @Kristinesimpson . Please don't freak out about all the reporters and new "friends" that will come out of the woodwork now that you've achieved the height of global celebrity that being a featured Follow Friday person in Spin Sucks will bring you. The attention is so intense that it's almost embarrassing. Just try to take lots of deep breaths and be aware of which is your good side for the camera.

@Kristinesimpson@Tinu I became the Bieber's BFF after my FF. He sent a limo to pick me up and had me watch him friend me on Myspace on his Blackberry. Then he took me out to eat at Burger King. I was even allowed to order off menu vs only the value meal menu.

Great post, @ginidietrich ! I second and third everything you say about @Kristinesimpson . And it's not just because I'm trying to 'publicize' my word of the week guest post or that Kristine knows us by our sound waves. Kristine is both talented, curious and you can always count on her to do everything she commits to.

So, I've learned that @Kristinesimpson is awesome with a capital "A" and that Hamburg is a place I must visit, and that @deleted_91832_Sean McGinnis is a birthday robot, and that @ginidietrich 's PR word of the day is "douchecanoe", and that @Lisa Gerber wants to be on a beach and that @thejackb supports the Cubs and Bears championships for 2823.....and Gus wonders why I love this place so much.....DUH!!!!

@sean McGinnis I'm turning into a Giniborg as well, my family keeps wondering why I keep mumbling spinsucks and asking for Gin & Topics at the bar. I was disappointed when George Burns died because he was the only famous guy I shared a birthday with. So Congrats, you can now fill that roll!

@Lisa Gerber Yes! "Douchecanoe" is perfect, it is a PR word, right?! Gini uses it, so it must be a PR word.
And funny note about that picture. It is taken on a very cold fall day on the water front in.... Kingston Ontario. MY old stomping grounds when I was a student at Queen's University.
@Kristinesimpson OHHHHH, I love Kingston. My father used to live up in the Thousand Islands and we'd boat down to Kingston for lunch. really pretty town (city?)
@lisa Gerber It is offically a city, but feels like a town. I loved the campus and water front. I can't say I saw more than my little university campus bubble, but I did do a drive around to visit all the jails. Kingston has 8 jails, 2 universities and 1 college. So we are all a bunch of students and ex-cons!
