The 12 year old self video is a great idea. Would be cute to ask your kids questions and give them a video when they're older!
@rachaelseda I think it's a GREAT idea! I wish I'd done it.

Ahhhh. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The book tour is nearly finished!
I had a great time in Detroit, though. Through Social Media Club and Ford, Nikki Little, Mike McClure, and Scott Monty really took care of me. I got to put some faces to Twitter handles and met some really fun new people.
But, I had to write my hotel room number on my hand on Wednesday night because I tried to go into the hotel room number from Tuesday night. So I’m happy to be home!
And I’m happy that last week’s Gin and Topics compelled a whole bunch of you to send in articles, photos, and videos. This is a good one!
5. A Conversation with my 12-Year-Old Self. Some of you may have already seen this because Jack Steiner posted it in the comments of last week’s Gin and Topics (against the rules!), but if you haven’t, it’s worth checking out. It’s 32-year-old Jeremiah asking his younger self what he wanted to be when he grew up. Pretty powerful. And thank you to Rebecca Amy Todd for following the rules and sending it to me the appropriate way.
4. Batman Meets the Riddler. In honor of The Dark Knight premiering and Ifdy Perez’s excitement, this is Batman meeting the Riddler. It’s not what you expect…and it’s really freaking funny (and a little painful because Batman is so dumb).
3. Justin Beiber Fan. Alright, Ryan Cox, this is a good introduction for you to Gin and Topics. This video is an overly attached girlfriend singing new lyrics to “If I Were Your Boyfriend” by Justin Beiber. It’s strangely hilarious.
2. The Muppets: Bohemian Rhapsody. I love the Muppets. I love Queen. Why not put them together? With Animal and all! Thanks to Jason Konopinski for the find!
1. Chimp Adopted by Bull Mastif. Not a video, but I can’t help but include images of a chimp adopted by a bull mastif. This might be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen (thanks to Mr. D). I want one! You have to flip through the images to see how it all came about (and see both animals as babies).
Happy weekend, all!

@RebeccaTodd Hah, I follow the advice of Thomas Edison:
"Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something."
:D

@RebeccaTodd @TheJackB No! All is NOT fair in Gin and Topics!

The "girlfriend" is HILARIOUS. She has a whole channel of these videos, some with way more views. Not sure her dating life will ever recover, but hey...

@kamichat I think it's pretty darn funny, too!

A small boy's Sunday trowsers. Brilliant. Enough said.
I love the girlfriend thing. It's actually a great insight to the new millennials (or something trite like that).....made me howl.

I LOVE THE MUPPETS. I definitely love them more than my kids, but I subject them to anything I can find. Thank you, Gini! And woo hoo and getting home!

@jeanniecw I'm going to make them watch Muppet videos with me next time I see them!

Okay, yes, the girl is creepy, but the lyrics are great! I was smart enough to fast forward through her creepy stare in the beginning. *shudder*

@annedreshfield I think the creepy stare is hilarious. At first I couldn't figure out what she was doing. Then I got it.
Latest blog post: A Tale of Organizational Change
@ginidietrich Absolutely. The first second is creepy, then you realize the stare has a point. :)

@ifdyperez You are cracking me up. Our movie theater is showing all of the Batman movies on Friday night for $25.

Seriously. I had to stop the creepy girlfriend video. Now I'm going to have nightmares.
@Lisa Gerber Now that makes me want to do that to you during our next staff meeting!
The attached girlfriend is very scary! Creepy... Thank God for the cute chimp and I am losing the mental image of the girl staring at me!
Ugh - I'm so rolling my eyes right now. My total disregard for humiliation and wearing a paper letter glued to me deserves a shoutout... just sayin
That Steiner dude is crazy, trust me I know. He spent too many hours trying to follow The Chicago Way

@ginidietrich One of my favorites. Hard to believe it is more than a couple of years since it came out now.

@Andrea Pecoraro You know you do that in your bedroom at night. For all we know, this is your younger you.
@ginidietrich I only stare and sing like that when I drink tequila...and I'd be singing to Tanning Chatum, NOT Justin Bieber!
Love the convo with my 12-year-old self video. So clever. And LOVED finally meeting you! Thanks again for coming to Detroit and talking with SMC Detroit.
@Nikki Little I LOVED finally meeting you! And I get to see you again very soon!
Muppets video is my all time favorite! I watch it anytime I want to laugh (out loud). I posted it to Facebook once and none of my so called "friends" commented on it. Gin and Topics has restored my faith in humanity!
@autumnmthompson What?! You clearly have the wrong friends. It's freaking awesome!
@ginidietrich I know! I'm thinking of starting a Facebook page and just inviting really cool people. I'm thinking they have to answer a questionnare before they are allowed. Just like elementary school all over again!
I couldn't get that stupid Justin Bieber parody out of my head for days after I watched it. Seriously. I was walking around my house singing about tiny recording devices taped under sleeves.
The Overly Attached Girlfriend story is, in my opinion, a fascinating look at how an ordinary person can become "Internet famous" overnight, with the help of a site like Reddit. In fact, I've been trying to interview her for my blog, but she won't reply to my tweets. I guess she's too popular...
@bradmarley Seriously? She might just be too young to understand (or handle) the attention. It's pretty funny she is this creative...I never would have done that at her age.
I have seen that chick in #3 do a couple covers - recent one for the song 'Call Me Maybe' and she is always acting the part of psychotic girlfiend. Im starting to wonder... LOL

@ginidietrich One second I blinked and then I tried to overcome this chills but was unlucky. Sent shivers to my bone..I couldn't stand watching it.
@ginidietrich She's creative - Ill give her that! But she seems to know a little too much about being a psycho girlfriend - lol
