Every month, the Orbit Media team hosts Wine & Web, which (if you’re in Chicago or visiting) are must-attend events.
For the past couple of years, Andy Crestodina and I do a live Q&A in December to end out the year and have a little fun.
This past year, I met one David J.P. Fisher, or DFish, as his friends call him and we became fast friends.
An author, a speaker, and an entrepreneur, we have lots in common and enjoy lots of the same things in our personal lives.
We actually did this interview a few weeks ago, but I held it because he got married last weekend!
Big congrats to him and his bride!
And now, without further ado, I bring you DFish on today’s Spin Sucks Inquisition.
The Spin Sucks Inquisition
DFish and I had a fun chat and explored the normal questions.
We also talked a lot about social selling and how you might bring that to your career.

This was a really fun video inquisition!! A couple of comments (a trio actually): I loved the discussion of the introvert/extrovert dichotomy. I am definitely an introvert at heart … and recharge best by being by myself. I think the current popular dialogue about introversion/extroversion goes a bit astray …. I think it’s easy for some to use their preference as an excuse rather than an explanation of how they interact best. // I laughed at your background comment. When I did my SS video inquisition, i set up an really jury-rigged arrangement in my bedroom, partially because it was the only quiet place to be due to my caregiving life but also so that there would be a blank wall behind me. Books would have been an added plus but a blank wall beats the normal flotsam of my life. // AND ANOTHER NON BINGE WATCHER. We’ve had access to a tv with Netflix for what? 8 weeks now? And I’m a few minutes into episode two of my first binge. I think I’m going to fail Binge Watching 101.
The introvert/extrovert discussion is always super interesting to me as well. And the interaction between the two…as we know, I’m an extrovert’s extrovert, but almost all of those super close to me are “social” introverts, so it’s an interesting learning about how we each manage situations differently.
Glad you liked the intro/extra conversation. I think the whole topic has been hijacked and misconstrued wildly by a lot of people. Heck, when you read the history of the Myers-Briggs test (that popularized the idea of introversion), you’ll see that there was little actual science to the category. They just made it up and that’s caused us to think a wide-range of behaviors, communication styles, and preferences can be easily described by a binary spectrum.
And binge watching is over-rated – there’s too many other awesome things to do in life. 🙂
OMG, I cannot stop laughing. You guys are hilarious!
I think a follow up “five rule” inquisition is needed to check those countries off your list and to tell us about your adventures in Vietnam.
DFish it’s great to meet you!
Great meeting you as well! I’d be happy to share our adventures in SE Asia. I have a feeling planning and executing a trip around the world will be a cakewalk after the craziness of the wedding. But she did show up and say yes so I am officially off the market! 😉
Man these are always the highlight of my week. So much fun getting to know you DFish! Hope to run into you next time I’m in Chicago!
Absolutely! We can do a live inquisition!
YES!! Excellent idea.
