By Gini Dietrich
As is the case with social media and blogging, I met Eden Spodek online first.
When Marketing in the Round came out in 2012, I was in Toronto for a book tour and got to finally meet her.
And that (and macarons) sealed our friendship forever.
Today she is not only a friend, but a client (of my super fun coaching group!) and a confidant.
You know her from the comments here and from the Spin Sucks book ambassador program when she Photoshopped me with Robert Downey, Jr. nearly every day.
I am excited to have you learn more about her on today’s Spin Sucks Inquisition.
The Spin Sucks Inquisition
I asked Eden the normal questions (which you can find below):
- Tell us who you are and what you do.
- What is the biggest mistake you’ve made in the past six months?
- What is one of the biggest trends you’ll be using this year?
- What is one thing about yourself that would surprise most people?
- What is the best book you’ve read in the last six months?
- What is your latest Netflix binge?
- The Five Second Rule
- Where can people find you online?
If you can’t watch the video below, you can find it by clicking here.
Where You Can Find Eden Spodek
Go stalk Eden online, if you don’t already do so.
You can find her on:
- Twitter;
- Facebook;
- Google+;
- Pinterest;

- On her website (where you can subscribe to her newsletter).
Now the floor is yours.
Hey Eden, So nice to see you on the inquisition. I cook with tomatoes all the time too – playing along, I totally stumbled too. YAY Gini, for the win! Finally, about time.
Ok, because I am an official SS crazy I can be smart aleck-y right? It’s macarOns not macarOONs.. .macaroons are the coconut ones.. These delicious yummies are the meringue almond based. Ok done now. Happy Friday 🙂
I FIXED IT
LOL! People call macarons macaroons all the time. I just go with the flow. 😉
I need a macaron now (without coconut).
I’ll send you one. 😉
Yes. Was totally joking. I get it all the time when I mix them up.
And why I didn’t pick up on that during the game? 😉
Thanks Lubna! It was a lot of fun being in the video hot seat. Happy Friday!
(You can also see I’m still getting used to Postmatic comments.)
I’m a few Friday’s behind, however I would like to “bark” out my blisfull joy of seeing Eden here! [Bill better show up for his mention] Coffee on me next time Eden. 🙂 I LOVE “Billions” as well. And the pectoral pumper Petrolino and Mr D. cameo’s…..oh boy. Have a great weekend!
The peanut gallery cannot help himself!
Thanks Darryl! It was a busy inquisition that’s for sure. Is there at least one redeeming character on Billions? I’m heading back to “the” Sbux to meet with a student from Istanbul this morning. Send me a PM if you’d like to join us. Happy Friday!
LOL! Pectoral Pumper Petrolino……not like that nickname could go wrong….in so many ways!
Laura – Is that the perfect workout trifecta name or what! 😉
Eden – I would have joined you at SB this morning, alas I had an 11am phone chat for a potential opportunity. Perhaps Metalica helped show Alexrod the “light”? 0r not…
Hope your call went well, Darryl. You’ve lost me talking about Metallica. 😉
The last episode of Billions – he took some friends on his private jet to Montreal or Quebec City to catch a Metalica concert. 😉
Gotcha re: Metallica. I guess I was thrown off a bit. I won’t provide any spoilers but he was tested that night and has one redeeming quality. 😉
BTW, I couldn’t reply in order and didn’t get a notification. 🙁
I take that back. The reply is in order but I couldn’t edit that part of my comment. LOL!
Sometimes I wonder about you PR folks… 😉
I’m as much PR folk or not as you.
I knew that. *shuffles away silently*
Peanut gallery referring to JB…..or Mr D?
Yes.
I can’t believe that after I did a SONG for you, Dietrich, you didn’t choose ukulele as one of your three stringed instruments.

Let me tell you how hard it is to think of three things in five seconds when the camera is on you. I mean, I said “piano.” REALLY??
You mean I’m not always on your mind?! I AM DISAPPOINT AGAIN!
I should’ve had that question. 😉
If the question had been, “Name three people you love,” Pete LePew would have made the list.
I’ll include that question sometime and we will just see, won’t we….
BHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hey Eden, so great to see you on the hot seat, on video this time.
You guys are great, but the winners are JB and Maggie. You have to appreciate how they coordinate to make the intro and outro. ?
Hey Corina, thanks! You’re a tough act to follow and set the bar high for all of us. Yes, the fur babies always win. 😉
Wait – I thought you met before then at Podcamp? So confused!
We did meet at Podcamp thanks to you (and Martin Waxman). 🙂 I didn’t want to correct Gini since she’s so excited about winning The Five Second Rule.
Oh no, you have to keep that one in place!
Oh hells bells. I barely know what today is. Was Podcamp before the book came out?
Yes, at least a year or two. Hells bells. I have no idea if this will show up in the comment thread or not. Fun times.

IT DID!
*YAY! I’ve removed my signature this time. What’s weird and I hadn’t noticed before is that notifications are received in either Social, Promotions or Update folders in Gmail. Do you know how Gmail decide where they’re filed? Strange. *
Gmail’s a weird bugger. But, you can filter so they all go to something like Social.
Thanks Sir!
Yes. That was waaaaaay back in 2009. We were all on a PR and blogger ethics panel – sheesh!
HOLY COW! WE ARE OLD!!
I WIN!
Speak for yourself, granny!
Well, that was so much fun! Great hearing your voice, Eden! 🙂
Thanks, Paula! Miss you! xo
So here I am watching this interview with the lovely Eden, and she mentions my book (with Steve Lubetkin), The Business of Podcasting! Always nice to learn more about you, Eden. And thanks for the mention. Glad you like the book.
And, Gini, thanks for featuring Eden. She rocks.
Aw, thanks Donna! Of course I enjoyed your book and the support you and Steve have given Ada’s Sisters.
I would like to dispute the contest results. Gini, the piano is a percussion instrument 😉
