On the sixth day of Christmas, Spin Sucks gave to you…six online courses, five effective storytelling rules, four productivity tools, three books on writing, two marketing trends, and a professional goal for 2019.
And just like that, we’re halfway through our series.
And, according to the advent calendar my mom gave the little one, we have only 14 days until Christmas.
I’m in big trouble this year. I haven’t even started shopping. I’m going to be that person at CVS on Christmas Eve.
(Not really…I have Amazon Prime.)
But that’s neither here nor there.
Today we’re going to talk about online courses to jumpstart your 2019.
Online Courses: PESO Model
It’s not quite ready for you, but we are launching a PESO model course with PRSA in January.
Starting with owned media, it brings in earned, shared, paid, authority, and measurement in a seven module course.
I don’t have any details yet on what it’ll cost or when it officially launches, but I do know it’s pretty darn close.
To be added to the list so you are alerted when the course is ready, download the PRSA PESO model booklet now.
It has everything you need to start outlining your integrated communications plans.
The PESO model course will help you fill in the blanks and teach you the intricacies of how it all works together.
Online Courses: Modern Blogging Masterclass
The Modern Blogging Masterclass is the online course we launched with—and it’s been so wildly popular, we continue to update it and offer it.
The Modern Blogging Masterclass includes four modules, with four or five lessons each, that teach you:
- How to create content based on what your audience(s) truly care about;
- Get it distributed in the right spots; and
- Have measurable results to show for it.
We don’t teach you how to write or how to write for blogs or how to get people to read and share them (though that will be an ancillary benefit).
I do take you through our process, step-by-step, from choosing the right topics to finding the media who care about you—and have high influence for your business—and building your expertise along with qualified leads
We’re offering the self-study version for $97 right now.
So if you need to increase your domain authority, get better search results, and have people actually read (or view or listen to) and share your content, this one is for you.
Online Courses: Close More Clients
Attention agency owners!
This one is for you.
If you are a freelancer, a solopreneur, have a team, or work solely with contractors, this is for you.
If you need to add additional revenue streams so you can build a business that works for you versus you working for it, this is for you.
Close More Clients launched earlier this year and has resulted in many agency owners adding passive income streams to their businesses—and making money along the way.
It’s been incredibly rewarding for me and the entire Spin Sucks team because we’ve been part of them all reaching levels of success they didn’t know they had in them.
We’ve also seen them change their thinking in how they go about, well, closing more clients—and doing it without the traditional ways we’ve all tried to grow our businesses.
For instance, they:
- Are no longer writing proposals to win business. They have a process, they talk a prospect through it, they discuss price, and they close the business.
- Are no longer ghosted by prospects they thought were a great fit.
- Don’t respond to RFPs or participate in competitive pitches.
- Don’t rely on referrals or word-of-mouth to help them reach their financial goals. Instead, they’re taking the bull by the horns and building a process that creates inbound, qualified leads.
- Are networking with other agency owners in a mini mastermind of sorts.
- Are shifting their mindsets and building confidence in asking for what they deserve—and the value they provide.
This is the program where I spend all of my time.
If you want to change your agency’s trajectory in 2019, close more clients, make more money, build your confidence, and hang out with me, let’s do it!
Online Courses: Spin Sucks 30-Day Communications Challenge
If you’ve been hanging out on Spin Sucks for the past couple of weeks, the 30-Day Communications Challenge is not new for you.
In its third year, the Challenge has two options:
- A free daily email that helps you craft your 2019 communications plan, along with writing prompts and extra credit to help you get results; or
- The Communicator’s Playbook, which includes step-by-step instruction and video tutorials. This is especially handy for those of you who are visual or don’t have the patience to try to figure things out on your own.
For both groups, it includes a private Slack group, where you can ask questions, get help, or celebrate your wins.
Come hang out with us for 30 days. It begins on January 2!
Online Courses: Masterclass
Last year, I received a Masterclass class for Christmas.
I ended up using it for Wolfgang Puck’s cooking class—and it was marvelous.
Having learned so much and devouring the content, I upgraded and got a year’s pass.
Since then, I have taken Thomas Keller, Malcolm Gladwell, Judy Blume, Margaret Atwood, and Gordon Ramsey.
Some of them haven’t really taught so much as pontificated, but I’ve taken tidbits away from each one.
You can take writing, cooking, photography, basketball, poker, politics, and more.
It’s a one-stop-shop for all of your personal interests and hobbies.
I cannot recommend it more.
(By-the-by, that link above is an affiliate one. Apparently they’re having a holiday season sale. If you buy yourself a course—or gift it—and use my my link, I get an additional three months…and you’ll get an additional one. So yippee!)
Online Courses: Content Marketing University
I had the great pleasure of seeing my Content Marketing Institute friends in Chicago last night.
And was reminded of their Content Marketing University, which is open for winter enrollment right now.
The Content Marketing University elective, “Purpose and Strategy”, will take your content marketing education to the next level.
It will provide a framework you can use to create new processes and become successful with building, scaling and transforming your content as an experience to the next level.
But it closes on Friday so if it’s something you know you want to do, get yourself enrolled this week.
Online Courses: Your Turn!
I was limited to only six here.
Of course, there are lots of others, including LinkedIn Learning, Skillshare, Coursera, and more.
So now it’s your turn.
